One of my greatest passions is talking to people about how wilderness survival has brought me closer to nature and completely changed my perspective on life. During my talks I reflect on personal anecdotes of survival situations, living in the woods primitively for a year, how wilderness survival is the ultimate freedom, "nature deficit disorder" and the miraculous transformations I have witnessed that the thousands of students I have taught get closer to nature and my experiences living with remote indigenous people. Every one of these experiences contains not only a story but also the lesson it unraveled.
