Advanced Survival
There is no better way to connect with nature than to experience a full survival situation. Imagine spending a day wandering the landscape, foraging for edible plants, cordage material, natural clay deposits and fresh animal tracks. Advanced Survival teaches the student how to transition from the the first few weeks of a wilderness survival situation and introduces skills that are geared toward long-term primitive living. In this course we will focus on numerous fire making techniques (hand-drill, Fire thong, Fire Saw, Fire Plow, Natural Cordage Bow Drill..etc), Stone Tools, Primitive cooking, Advanced Traps, Tracking, Plant Identification, Basketry, Torches, Fire Extenders, Bowl Burning, and numerous other skills that allow a person to live off the land comfortably and indefinitely. Come experience the empowering freedom gained from the understanding that nature will always provide for you, if you know how to survive. June 20th. $100
Bow-Making
In this class each student will carve, scrape and sand a seasoned split log-- making it into a fully functional hunting bow. Come spend 3 days making a bow that will take down any animal on this continent. Each day you will be instructed in the stages of making your bow; receiving close guidance in the art of shaping and tillering a hand-made bow. Because every hand-made bow is unique, the group atmosphere will allow you to learn at an accelerated rate--as everyone gains insights from each others bows. This is a lot of work but is one of my favorite courses and will become your most unique hobby/obsession. Each student will leave with their own bow.
